MENL: "Israel Orders Evacuation of Sderot"

I began this blog as the Gaza pull-out was about to take place, and many of the events covered here since have stemmed from that original dismal event. And the thread connecting all of them has been an Israeli government whose folly is letting Jews suffer the consequences of Palestinian folly:
For the first time, the government has facilitated the evacuation of an Israeli city targeted by Palestinian missile gunners.

Officials said the government of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has ordered the evacuation of hundreds of children from Sderot and surrounding communities. They said the evacuation would be temporary and meant to provide them with respite from the daily Palestinian missile strikes.

"The last thing we want to do is to endanger the children," Vice Premier Shimon Peres said.

On Thursday, 1,000 Sderot residents made their way on buses for a free weekend in the southern resort of Eilat. The vacation was financed by Russian industrialist Arkady Gaydamak.
