"‘There is ample room for diplomacy’ with Iran: Chomsky" (Mehr News-Iran)

Iran doesn't admit to working towards nuclear weapons anyway. So how will a "nuclear weapons-free zone in the Middle East" help anything? Don't ask Chomsky:
“There is ample room for diplomacy,” Chomsky tells the Mehr News Agency in a short interview.

Following is the text of the interview:

Q: What is your assessment of the recent meeting between Iran and the major powers in Moscow?

A: Unfortunately, it got nowhere. And prospects do not look good.

Q: So do you think that such a situation may lead to a war and that the sides cannot resolve the dispute through diplomacy?

A: We can be fairly confident that war will only make matters worse. There is ample room for diplomacy. In fact, one excellent opportunity is arising this December, when there will be a conference on establishing a nuclear weapons-free zone in the Middle East. The idea has enormous support, but probably, as in the past, it will be blocked by the U.S. (and Israel), with Europe toddling along politely behind the master. Unless, that is, there is a massive demonstration of popular support in the West. The lack of reporting is designed to undercut that threat.
Because Zionists control the press, no doubt.
