Guardian poll: "Should the US government mandate Americans buy broccoli?" 56% answer yes

They introduce the poll as follows:

US supreme court Justice Antonin Scalia made a comparison between the individual insurance mandate and a hypothetical federal requirement for citizens to buy broccoli. Well, should they?

I think people should get broccoli vouchers, and people that need expensive pre-bug-checked broccoli, such as Bodek, need extra broccoli vouchers. (I don't support government provided or mandated universal healthcare, but it should be paid for in normal taxes if people feel there must be such a program.) The Guardian poll shows that the Guardian and its readers have a sense of humor, which I never denied. Remember this?
