"Assad losing control as 10,000 soldiers desert Syrian military" (Ha'aretz)

The next dictator to make his exit?
According to Western intelligence agencies, even though the top brass is still loyal to President Bashar Assad, lower-level officers are deserting in large numbers, and in some cases, whole units have deserted en masse. [...]
And maybe some of the top brass are leaving also. According to Arutz7:
A Syrian opposition group reported on Wednesday that a senior officer in the Syrian army has defected.

The group claimed that the officer is General Mustafa al-Sheikh, commander of the Syrian army’s chemical warfare unit. It was also reported that he fled to Turkey.
