Ahmadinejad: "Zionists develop diseases to sell drugs"

From Iran's Press TV:
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has blasted some 'Zionist drug cartels' that develop new diseases to sell their pharmaceutical products.

"Some multinational companies and Zionist cartels produce new kinds of diseases to export their drugs to other countries," Ahmadinejad said in a meeting with Iranian pharmacists arragned to mark the Pharmacy Day.

"Contrary to the commercial approach that is prevalent in the world drug markets, our approach towards the production and export of drugs is humane," Fars news agency quoted the president as saying.

"We should try to produce drugs that are needed worldwide to help the humans," he noted.

Ahmadinejad stressed that Iran is a country with an old history of medicine and that such a country "is capable of playing a major role" in the field of pharmacy.

Earlier this year, Iran successfully mass produced Angipars, the world's first herbal medication for the effective treatment of diabetic foot ulcers.
The point of a speech on Pharmacy Day would presumably be to promote Iran's pharmaceutical industry, and you would think that he would save the conspiracy theories for visits from Islamic Jihad and Hamas officials, but I guess every road in Ahmadinejad's world leads to the same loony destination. Al-Alam (Iran): "Poisoned Food, New Israeli Warfare"

As Barabbas says in Marlowe's Jew of Malta, "Sometimes I go about and poison wells":
Palestinian food markets are inundated with contaminated, poisoned food stuff exported via Israeli regime-controlled border crossings, Palestinian officials have warned.

Palestinian Authority officials told Al-Alam on Wednesday that the Israeli regime has border crossings under control and bars the PA from ensuring the safety of the imported food stuff.

Palestinian Authority Economy Minister Kamal al-Hossuneh said a large amount of poisoned food stuff have been discovered and confiscated in the West Bank.

The suppliers and distributors of the food stuff have been detained and will stand trail at the Supreme Court, Hossuneh said.

Palestinian Police Spokesman Brigadier Adnan al-Zamiri also said: "Dealers in the illegal Israeli settlements have imported the stuff to the Palestinian Territories for gaining money at the cost of Palestinian people's lives."

Zamiri also blasted the Israeli regime for hindering the Palestinian Authority from controlling the imported food stuff. [...]

Release of boy really sinister Zionist conspiracy

The ever-watchful Elder of Ziyon has already posted about this story, but the conspiracy aspect is now emerging:
White flower, not explosives was packed in a plastic bottle and thrown towards Israeli soldiers by a 15-year-old Palestinian boy who turned up at the Huwwara checkpoint south of Nablus two weeks ago.

The boy, Ra'fat Obeid from the Askar refugee camp, was arrested by Israeli forces and taken into Israeli custody, and was released to Palestinian Authority (PA) police this week.

Details of the events are murky, and officials have bounced blame between poverty, Israel and internally divisive forces . . .

Sources told Ma'an's Nablus correspondent that Obeid hoped that after his arrest his family would receive a small monthly sum of money from the Palestinian government in compensation for his loss to the family. The PA has a policy of supporting the families of those arrested by the Israeli army.

Security sources explained that Obeid was handed over to his family after they signed several pledges to Palestinian Security Services ensuring that the boy would not try the stunt again. They added, however, that they suspected there was a third party involved which had provided the boys with the flower-stuffed bottles and advised them on the time and place for the plan's execution. Such a force, said Palestinian Security, was an attempt to corrupt the children of the area.

For his part, the Palestinian official accused Israeli intelligence agencies as being behind the incident. He said that it was a ploy to have vulnerable children arrested and to plant ideas and strategies into their heads.
It only takes a few minutes of custody . . .

Press TV (Iran): "Yvonne, friends break Gaza siege"

For me the really significant thing about this little peace flotilla is that Yvonne was there. She, of course, compares this momentous event to the fall of the Berlin Wall. She missed the fall of the real one "by just a few days," whatever that means. According to a "Gaza Activist" quoted by Ynet: "once it turned out these boats contain too little food and mostly activists…some people left the beach disappointed."
A group of peace activists on board two boats have broken the Israeli imposed blockade of the Gaza Strip.

Israel had earlier announced that it would not allow the convoy of more than 46 activists to enter the Gaza Strip and ordered the Israeli Navy to confront it. But it had to change its decision.

The boats carried humanitarian supplies including hearing aids for children whose hearing systems have been damaged by Israeli bombs and sonic booms.

The boats entered Gaza's territorial waters on Saturday afternoon.

Tel Aviv also announced that it would act about future similar measures individually.

The Liberty and Free Gaza boats started their trip on Friday.

The activists had earlier said Israel had jammed their communication systems, saying the regime is trying to sabotage their efforts.

In a statement the group said Israel scrambled the boats communication systems adding that "We are not experienced sailors. As a result, there is concern about the health and safety of the people on board."

"Thousands of people have gathered together to welcome the peace activists who just arrived in Gaza", Yousef El-Helou, the Press TV correspondent in Gaza reported.

"We've entered Gazan waters. We're flying the Palestinian flag, and we now believe that we're going to reach the shores of Gaza very soon. I missed the start of the Berlin Wall coming down by just a few days, but now I know how people felt when they tore down those first few bricks. Today is a huge victory of people over power," Press TV's presenter and journalist Yvonne Ridley who was on board one of the boats, had said earlier Saturday.

It is the first time that a NGO has managed to practically break the year-long siege of the Gaza Strip.

Israel imposed the blockade on the coastal are after Hamas took control of the area.

The team of activists includes high-profile people such as Lauren Booth, the sister-in-law of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Hedy Epstein, a Holocaust survivor.
EOZ points out that Time also has a glowing report.

PalPress: Hamas attacks university, tears up martyr pictures

"Hamas lawless militias" is an example of common phrasing in these stories. Another one begins "Hamas lawless ousted government said . . .":
Hamas lawless militias stormed today at noon campus of Al Azhar university in Gaza Strip.

Fatah's Spokesman Fahmi Al Za'reer confirmed the story and said that Hamas does not respect the sanctity of the Palestinian universities and specifically conducts periodic incursions into Alazhar university in attempt of lowering the spirits of Fatah youth students.

In a related context, Fatah's Spokesman confirmed in a released press statement which PalPress received a copy of that Hamas affiliated lawless militias have been conducting abductions against directors and teachers who committed to the strike which was announced earlier by the Teachers' Union on the background of protesting against the measures taken by Hamas against them.

Students and eye witnesses said that Hamas militias stormed the campus of the university and beat students and employees, they also tore up pictures of martyrs and pictures of the Late President Yasser Arafat which were hung on the walls, additionally clashes broke out between students and members of these militias, the matter which resulted in several injuries.

The witnesses added that students Mohammed Zakout and Ahmed Abu Nahel were known among the injured, others were nabbed including Mahmoud Al Absi and Fouad Sha'ath members of the Students' Union.

They added that Hamas militias broke windows of the science department building and a number of windows inside the neighboring buildings.
Are you depressed because somebody tore up your martyr pictures? Cheer up with the latest editions of Carnival of the Insanities and Haveil Havalim.

Ahmadinejad: Zionism "the main cause of all corruption and wickedness in the contemporary era"

Hey, we couldn't have done it without some help from Khomeinism. This is a good illustration of how loony Ahmadinejad's worldview is:
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday advised the leaders of European countries and America not to yield to the Zionists' demands and never count on their support because "We will witness dismantling of the corrupt regime in a very near future."

President Ahmadinejad made the remarks in the sixth conference held on the occasion of "World Mosque Week" in Tehran.

Mosques and friday prayers sermons are all aimed at organizing political and social developments in Islam, he said. Mosques play pivotal role in connecting man with his Creator and no organization in the world can play such a significant role, he said.
The 9th government pays due attention to the significant role of mosques in the society, said President Ahmadinejad.

Referring to the Zionist regime, President Ahmadinejad described it as the main cause of all corruption and wickedness in the contemporary era, adding that the Zionism is the most complicated political and social scheme which has ever taken place.
Our masterpiece!
The writers in the West accept the fact that supporting the Holocaust is tantamount to backing the identity of the Zionists, he underlined. The Zionists who administer the affairs are not high in number but they have adopted a very complicated method in the world, he said.

Zionists are the most isolated group in the world but through media propaganda they try to indicate that it is others that are isolated, he said. Leaders of western countries and America are now doubtful about the identity of the Zionists, said President Ahmadinejad, adding "We will witness dismantling of the corrupt regime in the near future." The fate of an Iraqi Jew

In my recent post on the Jews of Yemen and Aden, I suggested I might do a series of posts on Jews from Arab and Muslim lands. Here is something on the fate of a prominent Iraqi Jew:
Shafiq Ades paid with his life for being a wealthy Jew. Ades was an assimilated Jew, completely disinterested in Zionism and well connected personally to the authorities in his hometown of Basra. He was a major contributor to the Palestinian cause and, as previously mentioned, was the wealthiest member of the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce on the eve of World War II. Ades's main line of business was representing the U.S. car manufacturer Ford. He was arrested in 1948, accused of buying tanks, trucks and other equipment from the British military stationed in Basra, and sending it to Israel via Italy. The prosecution failed to prove Ades's guilt, but the court ignored this fact and the fact that Ades's share in military surplus transactions was only 10%. His business associates were all Muslim, including prominent public figures, but their names were never mentioned during the trial. No witnesses were called to testify.

Within three days after the trial commenced, a month after his arrest, Ades was convicted, sentenced to be hanged, and fined 5 million dinar. State Regent Abd al-Ila'a--Ades's frequent houseguest--approved the sentencing. Ades was hanged publicly in Basra on September 23 and his corpse left on the gallows for five hours. For the Muslims, it was a day of celebration. For the Jews it was a severe shock; they felt that if this could happen to a man like Ades, clearly there was no hope of ever assimilating into Iraqi society, and no Jew could ever feel safe.

PalPress: "Hamas militias open fire towards a Pal'n citizen in Jabalya after abducting him"

Do you get the impression that some parts of the narrative have been omitted?
Hamas lawless militias opened fire today evening towards 'Khaled Abu Zayda' 21 years old in Jabalya refugee camp northern of Gaza Strip.

Local sources said that Hamas militias opened their fire towards Abu Zayda and threw him in a nearby farm.

The sources added that the Youngman was transferred to 'Al Quds' hospital in Gaza city, pointing out that doctors described his injury as stable.
Open firing isn't what it used to be.

PalPress: "Hamas police chief is a thief, double agent, and involved in collaborating with the Mossad"

Nicely lurid:
Palestinian security sources revealed the black history linked to the name of Tawfiq Jubber, Commander of Hamas affiliated police in Gaza Strip and the one involved in the implementation of torturtures and suppressions against Palestinian citizens under commands of Hamas leadership in the coastal Strip.

The sources mentioned grave information which revealed the involvement of Jubber in collaborating with the Israeli security services, and that Jubber was dismissed under instructions issued by the late President Yasser Arafat in the year 1997-1998.

"Jubber cooperated with Israeli parties and collaborators who fled the Palestinian territories in the establishment of projects worth millions of dollars in Romania", the sources said.

Regarding his history, the sources pointed out that Jubber took part in robbing the Central Bank of Lebanon and was known in Lebanon as the "Nice Bank robber", adding that he was famous for his relation with the Israeli intelligence and that he was sent outside Palestine with others sent to study abroad in order to spy on Fatah and the Palestinian Liberation Organization .

The sources resumed:"Jubber came from Gaza to Lebanon in the year 1976 and was nabbed at Lebanon's central security headquarters "Abu Al Hol" for collaborating with Israel, he remained in prison for a long time until he was recruited as a double agent.

Jubber was famous for taking bribes, prostitution, and blackmails, he ran a prostitution network during the year 1996 and he was on contact with the Israeli intelligence at the same time, amongst the names of Israeli officers whose Jubber's name was related to:Shamolik, Dan and Ofer.

The sources pointed out that Jubber made use of the names of more than 300 Palestinian merchants and caused them to be added on the black list at Egypt's security systems on claim of "security reasons", he later blackmailed them in return for lifting these entry preventions at Egypt border entrances.

Tawfik Jubber is currently working as a commander for Hamas affiliated police in Gaza Strip , taking into account that during his work with Hamas he resumed embezzling and blackmailing the families of the abductees inside Hamas jails, however these scandals were kept secret .

It is worth telling that disputes arose between Jubber and Abu Obeida Al Jarrah where the latter slapped him on his face and the issue was later resolved and kept secret.

The sources confirmed that Jubber will not be able to deny the above mentioned information.
Cute phrasing.

Towards a re-invigorated Zionism

A new blog has recently appeared, and its owner has graciously and benevolently decided to dedicate his blog to helping Zionism solve its bunk problem, enabling it to emerge refreshed and re-invigorated. He has recently addressed the build-up to the 1967 war, revealing in two recent posts the seemingly shocking information that Nasser did not ask for a complete withdrawal of the UN Emergency Force from the Sinai and that Nasser's closure of the Straights of Tiran might not have been actually implemented. On the subject of his future plans:
I will soon begin documenting internal Israeli discussions, and they will overwhelmingly show how eager Israel was to go to war, and how little of a threat they truly deemed any of the Arab states.
In the spirit of blogging-brotherhood, I would like to post a passage from Benny Morris that our fledgling colleague will undoubtedly want to include. (Righteous Victims, p. 306):
. . . Secretary-General U Thant unquestioningly accepted Cairo's right to demand the withdrawal: On May 20-21, UNEF withdrew from Sharm ash-Sheikh, and Egyptian troops immediately occupied the site. The UN's compliant response certainly surprised the Israelis. It may also have taken Nasser aback: He may have hoped that the matter would be referred to the Security Council or General Assembly, where it would be turned down--leaving his forces in Sinai, having challenged Israel, but with a UN buffer still firmly place. With the news of U Thant's agreement to the withdrawal, IDF intelligence began changing its tune. Its assessment on May 17 stated: "If UN forces withdraw. . . a new situation could arise, which would give the Egyptian [deployment] an offensive. . . character." Yet the overall Israeli estimate on May 18 remained that war was still "a remote possibility." At this point Nasser appears to have submitted to the momentum of his (or 'Amr's) previous actions. He may have thought that he was on the verge of a major, cost-free political victory. Having already moved six divisions into Sinai and returned at least two brigades from Yemen, on May 21 he declared a general mobilization of the Egyptian army. He appears to have believed--perhaps persuaded by 'Amr--that his army could defeat or at least hold off the IDF; perhaps the war fever of the Cairo crowds, reproduced in a dozen Arab capitals, got the better of his judgment.

Israeli intelligence still believed that Nasser would halt at the brink, and on the morning of May 22 thought it "unlikely" that he would announce the closure of the Straits of Tiran to Israeli shipping. But around noon the same day Nasser visited the Bir Gafgafa air base in Sinai and declared that Egypl was about to do just that, re-creating the situation that Israel had always regarded as a casus belli. 'Amr instructed his units to bar the Gulf of Eilat, from noon on May 23, to all vessels flying the Israeli flag and to all oil tankers boulld for Eilat. That night, just after midnight, the formal announcement was made.

In retrospect this can be seen as the decisive act that made war inevitable though Nasser apparently did not realize it. He was subsequently to imply--as during his speech of May 26 to Arab trade union leaders--that the whole sequence of moves, culminating in the closure of the straits, had been planned to trigger war with Israel, with the ultimate aim of "liberating Palestine." Not the Straits of Tiran but Israel's "existence"was the issue, he said on May 29. Clearly the situation had changed dramatically. At the IDF general staff meeting on the morning of May 23, Yariv declared: "The post-Suez period is over. It is not merely a matter of freedom of navigation. If Israel does not respond to the closure of the Straits, there will be no value to its credibility or to the IDF's deterrent power, because the Arab states will interpret Israel's weakness as an opportunity to assail her security and her very existence." Rabin and the deputy chief of general staff, Gen. Ezer Weizman, agreed.
The following (Righteous Victiims, p. 307) suggests that an Egyptian attack was a very real possibility:
The Egyptian command on May 24-25 briefly considered and planned a preemptive air offensive against Israeli targets . . . 'Amr apparently issued orders, on May 25, for a massive assault on May 27. The IDF learned of it, and Nasser countermanded the order on May 26, deterred perhaps by American (and possible Soviet) warnings.
I now anxiously await further postings and anticipate the emergence of a new, sleek, streamlined, bunk-free Zionism!

IRIB: "The entire people of Israel are the militia force for the Israeli government"

Here is a fairly long burst of invective directed at the Zionist entity with further denunciation of Rahim Mashai's attempt to exempt ordinary Israeli Jews from Iranian hatred:
Interim Friday Prayer Leader of Tehran Sayyed Ahmad Khatami Friday considered the Zionist regime's threats out dated and ineffective, while warning Tel Aviv if they would stupidly make slightest mistake, Iran's response would drive them crazy.

Tehran's interim Friday preacher addressing thousands of Tehrani worshipers at central campus of Tehran University referred to the anniversary of Lebanese Hezbollah's victory in its 33-Day War on the usurper Zionist regime, adding, "That war proved that the enemies of nations live at glass palaces that are instantly breakable when faced with might of nations and their resistance."

Member of the Leadership Experts Assembly reiterated, "The enemies cannot resist in confrontation with a nation whose weapons are "Allaho-Akbar" , "Ashoura" (the day when the third Imam of Shiites Imam Hossein (PBUH) attained martyrdom), and `Heyhat Mena zzellah' (Imam Hossein's (AS) saying on the day of his martyrdom: Alas! We would never yield to living wretched lives)."

He added that the authenticity of this claim is proved due to the fact that the the Zionist's army that was once regarded as the world's fourth strongest armed force was defeated in confrontation with a resistance force armed with divine beliefs. He noted, "They must have taken lessons from that event, if they are wise enough to do so."

Khatami said, "The wretched and mean Israeli figures had better realize that constant and everyday threatening of Iran would lead them nowhere, since such threats are both outdated and ineffective." Addressing the Zionist officials, he added that nations have got used to such threats.

He ridiculed that Zionists, who were unable to defeat a resistance force, are now after threatening and confronting a system that is thanks God in its best possible military readiness and will upon lightest intriguing move of the enemy respond with strongest and most effective reply.
It will respond militarily to intrigue? That's interesting.
"You definitely cannot do so." The senior Alim said the 33-Day War totally annulled the regional equations and made America and its oppressor rulers forget `the Greater Middle East' phrase for good. That victory was the victory of faith and strong belief, and the victory of blood over sword...".

The Leadership Experts Assembly member reiterated, "Is there any necessity under the current conditions of the country for some of our executive officials to speak of friendship with the Israeli nation, and to add that the American nation are the top most people in the field of mass communications?"

He reiterated, "Principally, this is an incorrect claim, since we do not recognize a people called the Israeli nation, being certain that the only nation living in occupied lands is the Palestinian nation. Besides, those are the people of Israel that back up their government. The entire people of Israel are the militia force for the Israeli government, i.e. they are commissioned with the task of assisting their government upon outbreak of any war."

The interim Friday prayer leader of Tehran added, "Under such conditions, why should someone here say we are friends of the Israeli people? Never! We neither recognize the legitimacy of the occupier regime of Holy Qods, nor are friends of the people of Israel."

He said, "Since this comment has had wrong international reflection, the person that has uttered it must immediately take back his words and to beg the great Iranian nation to pardon him for this inappropriate stand taking, rather than saying that I would repeat it thousand times. Repeating a mistake a thousand times equals making a thousand mistakes. What kind of reasoning is that?"

Khatami added, "The Islamic system's policies and fundamentals are clear. No single member of this mature nation permits anyone to say a word against fundamentals of foreign policy defined by the late Imam (Khomeini - P), and the Leader of the Revolution in the capacity of an official of the system."

"the great leader is the mental mainstay that humankind craved for so eagerly"

Another postcard from the realm of stunted possibility, courtesy of (North) Korean News:
A national seminar on the idea and theory on the revolutionary lookout on the leader laid down by General Secretary Kim Jong Il in his work "On Firmly Establishing the Revolutionary Outlook on the Leader among Officials" and his exploits took place at the Grand People's Study House on Wednesday.

The seminar heard five papers explaining and proving the scientific accuracy, truth, validity and vitality of the ideas and theories clarified in his work.

The speakers said that the ideas and theories on the nature of the work to establish a revolutionary outlook on the leader expounded by him are a revolutionary doctrine evolved and perfected on the basis of a correct understanding of the undisputed position and decisive role of the leader in the revolutionary struggle.
I think we have a Juche sentence of the day:
They noted that the Juche-oriented revolutionary outlook on the leader gave a clear scientific exposition that the great leader is the mental mainstay that humankind craved for so eagerly as he indicates the way for the people to carve out their destiny and instills inexhaustible creative power into them and lucidly enunciates the idea that the undisputed trust in the leader of the revolution is the most important life and soul for a revolutionary.

They stressed that the tradition of the revolutionary outlook on the leader is the core of the revolutionary traditions of Mt. Paektu and the roots of the shining victories and successes achieved in the past 8 decade-long revolutionary struggle in Korea.

The ideas and theories on the education in loyalty clarified by Kim Jong Il in the work serve as highly important guidelines to be always held fast to in fully preparing officials as vanguard fighters devotedly defending the leader, firmly equipped with the revolutionary outlook on the leader and a great banner for consolidating the single-minded unity of the party and revolutionary ranks, they noted, and continued:

For the past two decades the ideas and theories on establishing a revolutionary outlook on the leader have fully displayed validity and vitality with their tremendous attraction and dynamism.
The author of this is undoubtedly a robot with a tissue brain.

Iranian official deflects charge of not hating Israel enough

The NY Times reports:
[...] In a statement signed by some 200 members of the 290-seat assembly, Iranian lawmakers called on President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to dismiss Esfandiar Rahim Mashai, the vice president for tourism, after he repeated on Sunday his earlier comment that "we are a friend of all people in the world, even Israelis and Americans."

In his comments, Mr. Mashai, a political ally of Mr. Ahmadinejad and one of his in-laws, specified "for a thousandth time" that his country was against Israel, not Jews.

But Parliament was not placated. "We do not recognize a country called Israel and so we cannot recognize a nation called Israel," the lawmakers said in their statement, according to Fars, the semiofficial Iranian news agency.

"If Mr. Mashai does not have the political awareness that the Israeli people are the same people who have occupied the homes of millions of innocent and oppressed Palestinians and have created the army of the Zionist regime, he has no right to hold such a position," the statement added. [...]
This sort of story always sends me to Iranian news sites. It so happens that IRNA has a fascinating article covering Mashai's attempts to extricate himself:
Vice President and head of Cultural Heritage Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (CHHTO) in a letter addressed to Parliament Speaker here Wednesday answered questions and ambiguities pointed out by Parliament's Cultural Affairs Commission.

The said questions and ambiguities have been raised due to Esfandiar Rahim Masha'ie's twice repeated in as many weeks comment on Iranian nation's friendly status towards Israeli nation, like friendly ties with every other world nation.

In the letter addressed, "Dear bother Dr. Haddad Adel; Dear Head of Islamic Parliament's Cultural Affairs Commission", a copy of which was faxed to IRNA, we read, "Since my comments on Iranian nation's friendship with entire world nations, including the people of the occupied (Palestinian) territories have led to raising question and ambiguities for some members of that esteemed commission, I feel obliged to point out certain mattes for your consideration." Selected parts of his letter are as follows:

Islamic Republic of Iran's resolute stand towards the occupier regime of Holy Qods ever since the victory of the Islamic Revolution is quite logical and irrevocable.

The said regime is definitely politically illegitimate and illegal, and can therefore never be recognized, or officially accepted.

The Supreme Leader has repeatedly, including earlier this week spoken of the need to ask the entire residents of the occupied lands, including Muslims, Christians and Jews in a nationwide referendum about the type of political system they wish to have, and the 9th IRI Government resolutely pursues the propagation aimed at materializing that objective, assured that the Palestinian nation's resistance with soon lead to victory.

Palestinian Intifada Movement was born and gained victories under such conditions that the global oppression had made huge investments for continuation of occupation, and it has blocked the path for the warmonger Zionists' expansionist policies.

The 33-Day War accelerated the downfall process of that regime that is on the verge of collapse now, and as I have repeatedly stressed already, Israel is already dead, and such moves merely delay its funeral procession.

President Ahmadinejad's righteous and resolute stands on that malignant regime, that have entered the light of joy in the hearts of oppressed world nations, particularly the world Muslims, are among the points of pride of the 9th Government.

Taking advantage of those righteous stands the Western powers ave been trying to increase the price of campaign against the racist Zionists, propagating that the Iranians are antisemitists.

We are hereby once again stressing that both Iran and Islam are favoring peaceful coexistence among the followers of entire monotheist faiths, as we have always been throughout our history.

The range of the Iranian nation's such philanthropist feelings, and the precise distinction they make between the criminal statesmen and the innocent nations is so vast that it always includes even the Christian and Jewish people of the occupied lands.

Unlike some renowned Arab politicians that have sometimes spoken of the need to throw the entire Israelis to the sea, or the set them ablaze, the Supreme Leader of Iran has ruled out all such inhumane methods, and proposed the most democratic solution to the lingering problem of the region and the world in is meeting with Iranian ambassadors around the world.

Today, as the esteemed President mentioned in his meeting with the same group, the majority of the non-Muslim residents of that land are the poor and the oppressed, forced to migrate there from around the globe, and they are deprived of security and peace of mind, and have lost hope usefulness of that malignant regime.

Islamic Revolution, and rather, the dear Islam, calls the entire humankind to assist the movement to establish justice and lasting peace around the globe, and therefore, every human being is entitled the right to hear that blessed call, hoping that they would listen the call of their conciseness and convert to the blessed school of thought of the Prophet of Islam (P), since that regime is not only politically illegitimate, but also socially defeated.

Finally, using the word "Israel" in the phrase is merely aimed at conveying the Iranian nation's message of friendship, otherwise, it is quite obvious that that word is the most wretched one, not only from the political point of the view in the eyes of our nation, but also the most hated word for entire world nations.
Got that?

"U.S. Deplorable Management of Nukes Blasted"

That U.S., always "raising a hue and cry over someone's nuclear threat."
Three agents of the U.S. Air Force belonging to the strategic nuclear missile launching base in North Dakota were reported recently to have fallen asleep, with a secret locking device for pressing the switch for the launch of nuclear missiles left loose.

This indicates the extreme laxity manifested in the U.S. field of managing and handling nukes though it requires a high degree of awareness and sense of responsibility.

Minju Joson today says this in a by-lined commentary.

It goes on:

The U.S. Department of Defense is trying hard to downplay the gravity of the case, claiming that "there was no danger" as the frequently changing launching code had to be inputted but this is no more than a clumsy subterfuge to escape the protest and condemnation of the international community focused on the U.S.
We all know there's no code--one elbow in the wrong place and kablooey!
The U.S. handled nukes like toys though they do not allow anyone to get slackened even a bit and make any slightest mistake in their management and handling.

This fact goes to prove that the U.S. is so brazen-faced as to utterly disregard the human life and destiny.

What matters is that the U.S. made such serious "mistakes" not once or twice, the commentary observes, citing facts to prove mankind has been exposed to a U.S. constant nuclear threat ever since the middle of the 20th century.

The U.S., the worst country threatening other countries with nukes in the world, and nuclear criminal, is frequently raising a hue and cry over someone's nuclear threat, the commentary notes, adding that its ulterior intention is to disable defence capabilities of independent and sovereign countries and achieve its hegemonic goal with ease.
Not if Super Atom Kim can help it!

IRIB Radio: "Zionist regime sabotaging Iran-Turkey ties"

So what is the Zionist regime actually doing? Telling Iran that Turkey has been whispering behind its back?
A member of parliament said on Tuesday that the Zionist regime has targeted cooperation among the Muslim nations and it is trying to sabotage the upcoming visit to Turkey of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Hossein Sobhani-nia, vice-chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, told IRNA that the US and the Israeli regime do not like the Islamic nations to get closer and develop cooperation.

He added that President Ahmadinejad's upcoming visit to Turkey would benefit both states and will contribute to the two countries' regional and international cooperation.

Sobhani-nia said that paying such visits would help further promote bilateral cooperation between the Islamic Republic and other world states.
Foiled! We'll get you yet, Islamic Republic!

Pravda: "The two-faced, underhanded foreign policy of Georgia"

Predictable:
Ask anyone in the Caucasus region, and they will tell you never to trust a Georgian because they would shake your hand with a smile and then stab you in the back. On Friday morning, we saw a perfect example of this treachery, when hours after declaring a ceasefire, Georgian military units launched a savage attack on the civilians of South Ossetia.

Hours after Georgia President Mikhail Saakashvili, the pro-western Washington-backed anti-democratic stooge (attacks on opposition policians in Georgia are rife) declared a unilateral ceasefire, the Georgian army lanched a savage attack on the capital of the province of South Ossetia, Tskhinvali, with tanks and infantry, while the air force bombed a village and strafed a Russian humanitarian aid convoy. Hamas: "We are not sorry for the leave of Fayyad and his government and for the end of an ear of dictatorship"

Ramattan on the end of an ear:
Hamas movement stated on Saturday that it is not sorry for the end of the Palestinian PM Salam Fayyad's dictatorship ear.
Is that like a mojo hand?
"We are not sorry for the leave of Fayyad and his government and for the end of an ear of dictatorship," Hamas spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum, said in a statement received by Ramattan.

Barhoum added that Fayyad has accepted to be a part of the "dangerous Zio-American project, and a bridge for passing all plans aim at liquidizing the Palestinian cause," Barhoum added.

Fayyad has repeatedly announced that he is ready to form a new government to reunify the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and to launch a national dialogue.

Barhoum asserted that Fayyad founded and headed a police and security system only to protect Israel.
Nice of him.

Presss TV (Iran): "Israel 'has a hand in S. Ossetia war'"

I keep thinking how ironic it is that Russia has invaded the native land of Stalin and Beria. Anyway, the tentacles of the Zionist octopus are everywhere:
Israel has provided Georgia with military assistance amid an ongoing armed conflict in the breakaway region of South Ossetia.

The Israeli web site Debkafiles which is believed to have close links with the regime's intelligence and military sources, reported that last year, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili had commissioned from Israeli security firms up to 1,000 military advisers to train the country's armed forces.

According to the report, the Israeli advisors also helped Tbilisi with military intelligence and security operations. Georgia also purchased weapons, intelligence and electronic warfare systems from Israel.

The report added the Israeli advisers were deeply involved in the Georgian army's preparations to attack and capture the capital of South Ossetia on Friday.

The web site quoted "its military experts" as saying a project to pump Caspian oil and gas to the Turkish terminal of Ceyhan instead of the Russian pipeline network is in the interest of Tel Aviv. [...]

How Maureen Dowd's mind works

The column in which this occurs is eloquently scathing about Edwards for the most part, but what's with the following?
For some reason, super-strivers have a need to sell what is secretly weakest about themselves, as if they yearn for unmasking. Edwards’s decency and concern for the weak in society — except for his own wife. Bill Clinton’s intellect and love of community — except for his stupidity and destructiveness about Monica. Bush the Younger’s jocular, I’m-in-charge self-confidence — except for turning over his presidency, as no president ever has, to his Veep.

Dear Leader gives invaluable field-guidance to pigs and goats

Giving even greater play to the Imperialistic exploitation of Songun blog-fodder:
General Secretary Kim Jong Il gave field guidance to the Hamju Pig Farm and the Hamju Phyongphungdok Goat Farm.

The first leg of his guidance was the newly built Hamju Pig Farm.

After being briefed on the farm before a big painting showing a panoramic view of the farm, he went round the exterior and interior of the farm to learn in detail about its construction and the pig breeding.

He highly appreciated the feats performed by the builders and their helpers, expressing great satisfaction over the fact that South Hamgyong Province has successfully built a modern pig farm with huge production capacity on its own.

He highly praised the officials and builders for displaying the patriotic devotion in building a stock-breeding base of eternal value serving the people, noting that the farm is located in a nice place and has been built qualitatively and it was designed in such a way as to ensure the efficacy of feed and raise the efficiency of its carriage.
Dropping in at the fattening sty:
He dropped in at a feed processing room and fattening sty and various other places to acquaint himself with the technical equipment and the breeding on the farm. He encouraged the employees of the farm in their efforts to increase the supply of pork to the people.

He set forth tasks to be fulfilled to keep the production on the pig farm going at a high rate, saying that a sharp increase in the production on the Kwangpho Duck Farm and the appearance of another modern pig farm in the area of Hamhung have made it possible to increase the supply of meat to the workers in Hamhung and the people in other parts of the province.

The next leg of his guidance was the Hamju Phyongphungdok Goat Farm.

The goat farm covering a vast mountainous area in Phyongphungdok in Hamju County is a large farm to be proud of as it has 24 branches.

After being briefed on the farm before a huge painting showing a panoramic view of the farm, he made the rounds of a milk processing room, goat pens and other production facilities and the Phungdok Branch of Phungsong Middle School, Phyongphungdok Shop and other cultural and welfare service facilities to learn about the production on the farm and the living of agricultural workers.
Milk processing base built by milk processing room's own efforts?
Going round the milk processing room where a variety of processed milk products are being churned out, he acquainted himself with the production equipment and processing methods and expressed great satisfaction over the milk processing base built by it through its own efforts.

After walking round the production and supply service facilities, he mounted an observation platform to command a bird's-eye view of the farm.

Feasting his eyes for a long while on the attractive appearance of the farm which looks like a picture, he expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the party members and other working people of Hamju County built such a modern goat farm in a difficult period when they were hard pressed for everything.

He highly appreciated the feats performed by the people in Hamju County, noting with pleasure that they came to enjoy happiness after undergoing sufferings by waging a strenuous struggle, bearing deep in mind the slogan "Live not for today but for tomorrow!" in the period of "the Arduous March", a forced march when the country was faced with the grimmest trial.
Goats have bright prospects, Dear Leader shows benevolence:
Noting that the goat farm has a bright prospect of its development as it has favorable natural and geographical conditions, he underscored the need to push ahead in a planned manner with the work to create additional production capacity in order to turn the farm into the nation's leading goat farm. He showed great benevolence for the farm and set forth tasks to be fulfilled by it.
Raising grass-eating animals in a big way:
The officials, party members and other working people in Hamhung City, Hamju County and other areas of South Hamgyong Province have brought about a stirring reality as we see today by working out an ambitious operation and waging an indefatigable struggle, true to the WPK's policy on raising grass-eating animals in a big way, he said, adding that they are the proud explorers and pace-setters who have proved the validity and vitality of the WPK's policy on massively raising goats of high economic efficiency.

Saying that processed milk products are being massively produced by a lot of goat farms built by the army and society to greatly help improve the diet, he stressed that this signal turn is the brilliant fruition of the great era of Songun.

South Hamgyong Province could make such shining success by invariably pushing ahead with the farm construction projects till their completion in the revolutionary soldier spirit and the revolutionary spirit of fortitude without making even a moment's vacillation or hesitation though it was beset with manifold obstacles and difficulties in building big goat farms, he noted, emphasizing that what is most important is the revolutionary spirit of devotedly implementing the party policies in the spirit of unconditionally carrying out what the party determines to do. [...]
These things always climax with an endless sentence.

"the true life of a person can always be remembered by people only when he or she is embraced in the bosom of the great leader"

I think we have a Juche sentence of the day:
The Literature and Art Publishing House has recently released novels and books of common knowledge on literature and art which will be helpful to the cultural and emotional life of the working people.

The novel "Where Stars Twinkle" tells about heroic deeds of soldier constructors in building the Anbyon Youth Power Station in the days of the "Arduous March."

The novel explains what the revolutionary soldier spirit is and what a person should be like in the Songun era by depicting features of soldiers of the Korean People's Army who cut a water tunnel through, tiding over multifold difficulties and ordeals in the spirit of defending the revolutionary headquarters with their own lives and devotedly carrying through its intention and unexampled self-sacrificing spirit.

The novel "Jo Ok Hui," by tracing the course of growth of a Heroine of the DPRK well known among the Korean people, expounds the philosophical truth that the true life of a person can always be remembered by people only when he or she is embraced in the bosom of the great leader and everyone should dedicate his or her youth and life in defending this bosom.

"Foreign Musicians and Their Anecdotes" (Vol. 2) and "Common Knowledge of Dance" are among the new books brought out by the publishing house.

Variant spellings promoted

A current BBC article reports on the following proposal from Ken Smith of Bucks New University, a "criminology lecturer":
[...] "Instead of complaining about the state of the education system as we correct the same mistakes year after year, I've got a better idea.

"University teachers should simply accept as variant spellings those words our students most commonly misspell.

"The spelling of the word 'judgement', for example, is now widely accepted as a variant of 'judgment', so why can't 'truely' be accepted as a variant spelling of 'truly'?" [...]
English simplified spelling schemes never catch on, but every so often English undergoes some spelling changes anyway. Look at an edition of Swift's Modest Proposal with the original spelling and orthography if you want to see something fairly different from what you are used to. In current usage, variant spellings are actually unfortunate. If certain current spellings are more trouble than they are worth, then shouldn't the solution involve actual streamlining?

If people want to adopt Smith's modest proposal, let it be understood that the goal is to retain a system in which each word has one spelling. The "acceptance" of variants should be a temporary measure. The more intuitive spellings should be pushed down the path to becoming the new standard spellings while the now-current spellings become archaic variants. As the article explains, Smith is "not asking people to learn to spell words differently." But let's choose one spelling to teach to the next generation.

It's about time for Journalist Day in Iran

Has it been a whole year since last Journalist Day in Iran? Reporters Without Borders called Iran "the Middle East’s biggest prison for journalists and bloggers," so I hope they're giving those imprisoned journalists the day off from, well, whatever it is they do to them in prison. After all, "the current age is the age of communication":
Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said Wednesday that in today's world one cannot lead a deliberate life without the media because it is widely known that the current age is the age of communication.

Speaking at a ceremony to commemorate Journalist Day (Aug 7), he hailed martyred correspondents and congratulated those involved in journalism today.

"Given the heavy responsibility they shoulder, media persons, especially reporters, should encounter adversities with broad minds," he said. Larijani further said that diversity and involvement in different crises are among the features of journalism.

Describing some complaints against the media as natural, he said that what is important is that the journalists should move within the framework of their main mission. "Since the media have become an integral part of human life, that's why we are in need of competent, dynamic and well-known reporters," he said.

"We should be well aware of modern requirements in the field and that's for the same reason that holding scientific educational course is essential," the Majlis Speaker noted. Stating that promoting awareness in the society is depends on high knowledge of media persons and reporters, he also said that officials should give value to them and accept criticisms.
They could point out that certain officials don't clap hard enough at the Supreme Leader's public appearances, for instance.

IRIB Radio: "Lebanese Leaders on High Alert Against US-Zionist Plots!"

What's the latest from the conspiracy desks in the Oval Office and the Knesset? No matter, "the legendry [sic] anti-terrorist movement, the Hezbollah" is ever-watchful.
Lebanese President, Michael Suleiman, warned the illegal Zionist entity against hatching any plot to disrupt Lebanon's tranquility. In an interview with the Kuwaiti daily, al-Anba, he referred to recent attempts by Israeli officials to avenge their humiliating defeat at the hands of the legendry [sic] anti-terrorist movement, the Hezbollah, in the Summer of 2006, and said the Zionists were trying to sow the seeds of discord among different groups and political parties in a vain attempt to inflict a blow on the resistance movement. Although Lebanese people from different walks of life are striving to maintain unity in order to nip in the bud the Zionist plot at this sensitive juncture, they should keep in mind that even a little negligence would be quickly seized by Washington and Tel-Aviv. Political analysts believe that the defeat of the Zionists in the 33-day war was, as a matter of fact, the collapse of the wrong strategy adopted by the White House vis-à-vis the Lebanese people and the Resistance; the strategy that was supposed to be materialized by the Zionist Regime of Israel. The defeated enemies of Lebanon still suffer the consequences of their failure in this regard. So, the conspiracy desks in the Oval Office and the Knesset are resorting to different kinds of ploy to try to avenge the defeat.

Meanwhile, in view of the fact that Lebanon is a country of diverse ethnicities and enjoys different political, historical and geographical conditions, the Zionists have recently embarked on intricate plots to pit the Lebanese groups against each in a bid to ignite a civil war. However, with vigilance and awareness of Lebanese leaders, coupled with the wise management of the Hezbollah, headed by Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, the enemies' plots have come to naught. The most recent warning of the Lebanese president, urging the people to be on high alert to preserve dignity and national sovereignty, which were the fruits of the Resistance, is considered a prudent step in order to frustrate the wounded enemies.
And they're dangerous when they're wounded.

Iran accuses Baha'is of spying for Israel

The Fars headline for this item is "Iran Arrests 7 Israeli Spies":
Seven detained Baha'i believers have confessed to setting up an illegal organization in Iran that took orders from Israel and others to undermine the Islamic system, an Iranian paper reported on Saturday.
They were going to tell the Zionist entity the location of the secret treasure-house that holds the unity of the Ummah, but they were foiled!
The report in Resalat daily comes amid Israel's heightened threats against Iran. Israel, believed to be the only Middle-East country with nuclear weapons, and its close ally the United States accuse Iran of seeking a nuclear weapon, while they have never presented any corroborative document to substantiate their allegations.

Iran vehemently denies the charges, insisting that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only. Tehran stresses that the country has always pursued a civilian path to provide power to the growing number of Iranian population, whose fossil fuel would eventually run dry.

The Resalat report appeared to refer to a group of Baha'is, most of whom were detained in May, but it did not spell this out. Judiciary officials had no immediate comment.

"Seven Baha'i individuals have set up an illegal organization with connections to a number of countries including Israel and they have received orders from them to undertake measures against the Islamic system," Resalat reported.

Resalat quoted an official in charge of security affairs of Tehran's revolutionary court, named as Mr. Haddad, as saying that the seven latest arrests had made confessions. Revolutionary courts handle matters of national security.

"This fact led to the arrest of seven individuals. They have all confessed to the formation of an illegal organization, including (having ties) with Israel," Resalat added.

Iran said in May it had detained six members of the Baha'i faith on security-related charges.

The seven arrestees were members of The Baha'i International Community, operating under a governing council which is based in Israel.
How suspicious! Or is it that Middle Eastern countries which don't persecute them are hard to come by?

"Seminar on Juche-oriented Literary and Art Idea Held"

In which "all creators and artistes" are assured that the road to success involves "thoroughly arming themselves with the WPK's literary and art ideas and theories."
A seminar of the Juche-oriented literary and art idea on the orchestra and chorus "Snow Falls" was held on Thursday.

Speakers at the seminar said that the orchestra and chorus "Snow Falls," a combination of Korean-style orchestra, chorus and modality, is a monumental masterpiece in the Songun era as it perfectly embodied the Workers' Party of Korea's Juche-oriented literary and art idea of creating and representing famous songs listed as national treasures as peculiar ones as required by the developing reality.

They explained on how the above-said performance brought about a new phase in creating music pieces in the era of Songun by successfully representing in the form of orchestra and chorus the original tune of the song "Snow Falls".

The most important success in its creation is that it made the song loved by the people shine as a famous one worthy of a national treasure by applying the method of music representation that can help bring the ideological contents and artistry of the original tune of the song to the highest level, they noted, and went on:

The above-said orchestra and chorus has been arranged in such a manner as to ensure their profound philosophical contents and wide-ranging representation. This can be explained by the fact that the creating staff succeeded in finding out Korean style modality by use of diverse means and methods of representation. To be more specific, the creators found out the core of the famous song and oriented all its aspects to explaining its seed. They were successful in the musical plot and organization of its composition. They also succeeded in finding out the tune deep in national coloring by preserving the original tune as the main tune in the music arrangement and combining national musical instruments with Western ones.

They stressed that the above-mentioned orchestra and chorus has been produced as a masterpiece that can represent the era of Songun, the new century, entirely thanks to the energetic leadership of Kim Jong Il.

They underscored the need for all creators and artistes to produce more masterpieces in the Songun era by thoroughly arming themselves with the WPK's literary and art ideas and theories and earnestly learning from the success and experience gained in the creation of the above-said orchestra and chorus. [...]
The need to produce Juche-oriented blog carnival masterpieces of the Songun era is undersocred by the latest editions of Haveil Havalim and Carnival of the Insanities.

Nasrallah: "The world's interfering in Sudanese affairs has reached a critical level that represents an international plot against that country"

The Iranian Press approvingly quotes Nasrallah defending Sudan. From IRIB:
"Blatant international interference and conspiracies are seeking to strike the elements of power in the Arab and Islamic world," Secretary General of Lebanese Islamic Resistance Movement, Hezbullah Sayyed Hassan Nasrollah said.

"The world's interfering in Sudanese affairs has reached a critical level that represents an international plot against that country," Hezbollah's Secretary General said during a meeting with a Sudanese delegation Thursday.

"They want to endanger the internal stability in more than one country and region," Nasrollah said.

He said the major western powers seek to expose different states' national unity to the dangers of division and disintegration by creating conflicts, wars and ethnic and sectarian strife in some places and political crises in others to serve the interests of America and the Zionist regime.

Nasrollah said Hezbollah firmly supports the Sudanese people and President Omar Hassan al-Bashir, urging them to hold on to their internal unity in defense of their destiny. He also urged the Islamic and Arab nations and governments to confront false allegations.[...]
Scum.
