Fars News: "Senior MP: Iran Holds Documents Proving Baha’is Spying for Mossad, CIA"

More about the shadowy group behind the BBC:
The Baha'i minority has been running spying operations for Israel's notorious secret service Mossad and the US spy agency, CIA, and Iran has irrefutable evidence and documents to prove this claim, a senior lawmaker said.

Chairman of the parliament’s Cultural Commission Ahmad Salek made the remarks in an interview with Didehban Center in Tehran on Tuesday.

“I declare very explicitly that Baha’ism is an espionage organization which gathers intelligence for the CIA and Mossad and there are abundant documents to prove this,” he added.

Although members of the Baha’i sect have admitted to their crimes in various cases, the West, specially the United States, claims that Iran has violated their human rights due to its attempts to clamp down on the cult.

"We (as the state) offer a variety of services to the Baha’i sect in Iran and respect them as human beings, but not as insiders, spies, or a political grouplet supported by Britain and Israel to cause disturbance in Iran," Iran's former Prosecutor General Qorban-Ali Dorri-Najafabadi said in 2009.

According to Dorri-Najafabadi, there is irrefutable evidence that many adherents of the Baha’i sect are in close contact with the enemies of the Iranian nation and have strong links to the Zionist regime.

"We have always showed great kindness to the Baha’i citizens in Iran. We just oppose such relations," Dorri-Najafabadi explained.

Note that the quote says "there are abundant documents to prove this" and Fars has upped this to a claim that the MP actually has a document to prove the claim.

These and similar claims have been made for decades, without a single documented case. Naturally: the Bahais are a repressed minority who are banned from government jobs, higher education, the military (although they served in the ranks during the Iran-Iraq war), and all economic sectors considered "sensitive." Their homes are frequently raided and their books and computers seized. So they are the last people that foreign intelligence agencies would recruit as spies. They have no access to information, and they are too closely monitored. No doubt there are foreign spies in Iran, but 99% of them will be pretending to be good Shiah Muslims, because that's what you have to do to get access to information. Duh.

Forged documents have been produced to bolster anti-bahaism by showing that Bahai is a non-Iranian import. The most famous is the Dolgorukov Memoirs, see the Encyclopaedia Iranica article:
http://www.iranicaonline.org/articles/dolgorukov-memoirs

Leaving such forgeries aside, there is no documentary evidence that Iranian Bahais are in collusion with foreign governments. In every country, the Bahais are loyal to the government, because that is a basic Bahai principle
