President Mahmoud Ahamdinejad downplayed European countries' silence over his recent proposal to trade committees to make a fair assessment of the status of human rights both in Iran and the West.Can you imagine an Iranian human rights committee travelling around Europe? Their family members would probably be kept hostage back home to make sure they didn't get any bright ideas about defecting.
Speaking to a news conference Saturday, the president said that it doesn't matter that the Western countries have kept their lips tight over the offer.
'No matter,' President Ahmadinejad told reporters.
