The Lebanese Minister of Defense warned Israel Thursday that if IDF ground forces are sent into southern Lebanon, Lebanese troops will fight along with the Hizbullah against Israel.This development also sheds some light on Hizbullah's position in Lebanon over-all. There are undoubtedly Lebanese who hate Hizbullah and who are powerless to do anything about the war, but Hizbullah did not achieve its current strength and role in the government without the acquiescence of the rest of the country.
