Mehr: "Leader tells Basij members to avoid extremism"

He wants them to "avoid extremism"? I guess he means as much as you can avoid extremism and still be a good Khomeinist. Too bad he doesn't offer an example.
Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has urged the Basij volunteer forces to avoid carrying out extremist actions.

“It is essential for Basijis to refrain from extremism in practice, because extremist action is as harmful as inaction,” the Leader said in an address to a gathering of Basij members in Qom on Sunday.

“The revolutionary zeal of the Basiji youth should grow every day, but they should be careful to use it appropriately,” he stated.

Ayatollah Khamenei advised the Basij forces to be vigilant in the face of the enemies’ plots to distort the truth about Iran’s progress.

“Today, one of the main objectives of the enemies, in line with their soft war, is distorting the truth about the country,” he said.

However, the enemies’ approach shows their weakness in the face of the rapid and great progress of the Iranian nation in the right direction, he noted.

The Leader pointed to the massive propaganda campaign launched against Iran and said the enemy is trying to present a false and discouraging image of Iran’s economic situation and claiming Iran’s economy is in crisis.

Attempting to distort the truth about Iran is not a new approach and the enemies have followed this policy for the past 30 years, but they have stepped up their propaganda campaign because the current Iranian government officials are acting on revolutionary principles more diligently and seriously than ever, he stated. [...]
There is just not enough revolutionary diligence and seriousness in the world . . .
