Leader Kim Jong Il received a congratulatory message from Fidel Castro Ruz, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, president of the Council of State and president of the Council of Ministers of Cuba, on Jan. 30 on the occasion of his birthday. Fidel in the message noted that he deems it a pleasure to wish Kim Jong Il, who is leading the Korean people in their vigorous struggle to build a great prosperous powerful socialist nation, defend the sovereignty of the country and achieve reunification as well as fresh and greater success in his work. He reiterated the firm belief that the relations between the two parties, governments and peoples advancing together for a victory of socialism would grow stronger in the future, too.
