Iran and Iraq have agreed to conduct an intelligence exchange.
Officials said the two countries have established a panel meant to launch an intelligence exchange. They said the group would also explore security cooperation.
"The two sides agreed to form a working group to lay down suitable mechanisms to implement the agreement to strengthen security and intelligence cooperation," the Iraqi Cabinet said in a statement on Oct. 15.
The statement was issued during the visit to Baghdad by Iranian Intelligence Minister Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei. Officials said Ejei discussed the implementation of a previous accord for an intelligence exchange with Iraqi National Security Adviser Muwaffaq Al Rubaie.
