IRIB Radio: "Hamas Stresses Zionist Regime’s Illegitimacy"

Brief but to the point:
Member of the political wing of Hamas Movement Osama Hamdan said: Rejecting the legitimacy of the Zionist regime is one of the principled policies of the movement.

In an interview with the Al-Arabia TV Network, Hamdan said the existence of the usurper and racist Israeli regime is not acceptable for Hamas but if we are not able to destroy such a regime this does not mean that we recognize the Zionist entity.
I was hoping to have that nondestruction-recognition distinction clarified. It is very easy to get the two concepts confused, especially if you are Reuters.
