Government spokesman Gholam-Hossein Elham said on Monday that Pope Benedict XVI has provided 'good but not enough' explanation on his recent remarks regarding Islam. He's on a diet.
Addressing his weekly press briefing, Elham urged the world Catholic church leader to correct his claims on Islam.
"It would be proper for the Pope to announce more transparently that the points had been wrong," said Elham.
He said there is no difference among religions and they invite all into monotheism.
"All religions seek justice, peace and perfection of human beings; it seems that Zionists, backed by the US, have in their crimes against humanity been trying to use religions as a shield; some, however, should be alert not to fall in their trap."He defended Islam against Pope's recent blasphemous claims.
"Islam is the religion of peace, justice and human dignity and Pope's claims stem from ignorance as a result of unfamiliarity with the rich religion."
