Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei told a visiting Zimbabwean President Robert Gabriel Mugabe Tuesday that the true path of facing up to global bullies is the resistance practiced by the African nation against pressures of the Western arrogant powers "because the insatiable appetite of dominance seekers will not abate by back climbing and softening."
Ayatollah Khamenei hailed the ever-weakening position of the arrogance and the ever-ascending position of the independence seeking countries, adding, "Also today, the arrogance makes attempts to hold destiny of nations and countries in hand by inciting wars, sowing discord, imposing economic embargos, exerting security measures and imposing political-propaganda pressures. However, through the nations' perseverance we are witness to back-to-back defeats of the arrogance, notably the American government, in Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon, Afghanistan and other regions in the world.
The IR Leader hailed Mugabe as one of the African prominent and valiant figure and appreciated his legal measures to distribute the then under occupiers lands among black tenant farmers, calling it a stride to meet the demands of the Zimbabwean nation.
Ayatollah Khamenei then touched upon the ever-expanding advances of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the fields of science and technology, adding that the transfer of those experiences through implementation of bilateral agreements will further enhance the already good Iran-Zimbabwe ties.
During the meeting, also attended by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Zimbabwean chief executive called his meeting with the IR Leader a historical occasion. He then touched on the measures adopted by the country's government to implement the Constitution and materialize the Zimbabwean national sovereignty.
"Following recovering black people's occupied lands, England, America and their allies accused us of violating human rights and exercising totalitarianism to destabilize Zimbabwea, but our only guilt is we are striving to give ruling to the Zimbabwean people over the fate of their country and to promote peace throughout Africa," Mugabe said.
"Despite all the Western blackmails, the Zimbabwean government enjoys popular support," Mugabe affirmed, vowing, "We are determined to continue fight against imperialism by relying on this popular support."
The Zimbabwean President lamented the oppression-rife history of colonialism in Africa as well as the recent criminal acts of America and England in Iraq and Afghanistan and the arrogance's support to the Israeli crimes. "Those countries which level allegations at us and you are themselves committing massive crimes. We are certain the enemies of humanity will fail and Iran will powerfully keep on its path as it did during the past years," Mugabe said.
Mugabe praised the Iranian government for its support to his country. "Zimbabwe seeks to further enhance its relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran and we ensure that we will secure new avenues in our mutual relations."
