President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's written message was delivered to Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi here on Friday.
Deputy Foreign Minister in European and American Affairs Saeed Jalili, who is currently visiting Italy, submitted the message.
Thanking for the message, Prodi told his Iranina visitor that he would 'carefully read' it.
The Italian prime minister reiterated in the meeting that old procedures were no more effective in dealing with today's crises in the world adding that Iran's 'active' role in in Afghanistan, Iraq and Lebanon has been very 'important'.
Prodi also said, "Iran's status in regional and international developments in today's world has been highly recognized and Italy is strongly for constructive dialogue with Tehran."
Italian Foreign Minister Massimo D'Alema was also present in the meeting between Prime Minister Prodi and Iranian diplomat.

Yet another letter from Mahmoud
Prodi now joins George Bush, Angela Merkel, and Jacques Chirac as receivers of Ahmadinejad's missives. The letters to Bush and Merkel both had Holocaust-denying content. Were the contents of the one to Chirac made public?
