HuffPo makes desperate bid to save Iran

The author, Thomas de Zengotita, is "a contributing editor at Harper's Magazine" and evidently a very accomplished creator of weird leftist flights of fancy:
It looks like Little George is fantasizing about going out in a blaze of glory. You can see it in his eyes, you can hear it in his voice. This is very dangerous.

If the US bombs Iran, this will be the reason:

Essentially weak men who spend their lives striking poses of strength can be fatally tempted by the Gotterdammerung impulse.
Can we have some Wagnerian background music, please?
It's a coward's way out, a flight from the consequences of one's pretensions to greatness but it can feel like vindication. It can feel like the ultimate proof of strength--this final act of bogus heroism.

And if there's ever been a bogus hero, it's Little George.

Memo to Laura: talk your man down.
